Getting a little frostbitten? In celebration of this snow day (it doesn't snow often in Texas), here are a few outfits that keep you toasty without sacrificing style. :)
OUTFIT #1
Moto Jacket: Gap // Fuzzy sweater: Cotton On // Jeans: American Eagle // Riding boots: UGG // Scarf: gift

QUICK TIP: leather or suede shoes? DO NOT GET THEM WET/DIRTY; It could ruin the material leaving permanent stains. Now, you're probably like, "AUDREY. YO LEATHER BOOTS ARE COVERED IN SNOW. WHAT. ARE. YOU. DOING." but have no fear, there's a way to protect your leather/suede from getting soiled: water repelent spray. Spritz your shoes with this stuff and they're good to go! They'll look and feel newer for longer.
OUTFIT #1 VARIATION (a)
red scarf: Abercrombie

QUICK TIP: A bright pop of red or any bright color adds a nice touch to an otherwise monotone or desaturated outfit.
OUTFIT #1 VARIATION (b)
Beret: Nordstrom (brand: Parkhurst) // Sunglasses: Mudd // Scarf: gift

QUICK TIP: adding more texture to your outfit can really make it stand out and look interesting. For example, the fuzzy sweater adds a soft texture and balances out the hard/edgy feel of the moto jacket.
OUTFIT #2
(same outfit... different coat.) // Peacoat: Forever 21

QUICK TIP: When choosing a jacket or coat for winter, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you pick a size that gives you room for layering. I've made this mistake MANY times: I try on a coat I like and it fits perfectly (But when I tried it on I was only wearing a short sleeved t-shirt). Then when I try to layer a sweater or cardigan underneath, there's no extra room in the coat, which results in my arms not being able to bend because the coat is too tight. :(
So, don't make the same mistake I did; when buying you next coat, buy one size up, or try on the coat with a thick sweater underneath it.
OUTFIT #3
still need to turn up the heat? Check out this warmer option:
Parka: Gap // Head wrap: Sam Moon // Scarf: Gap // Flannel shirt: my brothers // BF jeans: Gap
// Boots: mom's vintage Doc Martins

QUICK TIP: Layers! Layers! Layers! I'm sure your mother has told you this thousands of times, but if you really want to keep warm, you've gotta stack on those layers. In this outfit I'm wearing: 2 long sleeved shirts, a heavy parka, a head wrap and a thick scarf, thermal leggings and a pair of jeans over that. Sometimes I even wear two pairs of socks because I hate when my toes get cold.
If you're afraid of looking a little frumpy/puffy, stick to thin (but stilll warm) layers. Tight shirts/legging tend to hug the body and keep it warm, so compression-like tops and bottoms are great!
What a rad snow day this was, tbh I'm one of those people who still eats ice cream on a day like this and I love it. States in the north get snow all the time so it's probably normal there, but snow is so rare where I live, so this was exciting. Once the white flurries started falling I transformed into a five year-old on the spot. It was one big beautiful, white, nostalgic scene.
Anyways, thanks for reading my post! I can't wait for spring so I can shimmy into those pastels. Stay tuned for more posts, I'll be seein you soon!
